On the journey north, you’ll visit the beautiful Byzantine church of Agios Mamas, known as the protector of shepherds. As you pedal your way to Halki, the artistic – and not only – capital of the island, you can choose to leave the bikes and take a leisurely walk through the village’s alleys and enjoy a sweet treat in one of the delightful cafes. Alternatively, your guide can conduct you on a 10-minute hike to one of Naxos’ prettiest hidden Byzantine temples, situated in an area of amazing beauty.
Heading back will be something to look forward to as a local winery awaits. Unwind with a tasting of Naxos-produced wines, combined with extra virgin olive oil and fresh local cheese and vegetables – a truly divine tasting in a quaint and picturesque vineyard.
