The Loire is best known for crisp dry still & sparkling white wines based on the Chenin Blanc from Vouvray, which are light, fresh and relatively low in alcohol. Reds come mainly from Gamay & Cabernet Franc vineyards in Bourgueil & Chinon.

We generally visit at least one famous estate plus several small family vineyards where you have the opportunity to compare the Loire winemakers: style, village, and terroir.
